TALLINN

Built in Estonia.

Frozen Kingdom is a small studio in Tallinn — small enough that the person answering your email is also the one writing the code.

That has been the arrangement for fifteen years: our own games and products, client software in between, and no layer of account management in either direction.

What follows is the short version — what we are building now, fifteen years in the order it happened, and the client work we can show.

The longer answer, including who is here and what we build things with, is on the studio page.

Right now, most of our time at Frozen Kingdom goes into two things that are ours: Noir as Love and SkinTimeline.

NOW

We have built games, apps and software for ourselves and for clients. These days, it is easier to point at what we are building next.

Noir as Love — key art IN PRODUCTION · GODOT · STEAM Noir as Love

🖤 Love is a battlefield and every choice is a card you play.

In Noir as Love, you journey through the highs and heartbreaks of a relationship - one encounter at a time. Navigate the Relationship Path, a series of emotional battles where each phase of love is brought to life through strategic, card-based combat. From nervous first dates to soul-crushing breakups, your deck is your identity, and every emotion is an enemy.

Build your personality. Fight your feelings. Survive the story - or start over.

IN DEVELOPMENT · LAUNCH 2026

SkinTimeline

A tool for tracking skin over time — photographic history rather than questionnaires. Mostly a data-modelling and image-pipeline problem, which is why it is taking a while. In development now, with launch intended for 2026.

There is also Allicater, a catering marketplace that lets event organisers find and compare caterers without much effort. It is not a Frozen Kingdom project — it was built in cooperation with Gromet, an excellent developer and software architect — and it launched in 2025.

2011 → 2026

Fifteen years, in the order it happened.

Kept as a build log rather than a founding myth. Gaps included.

2011

Frozen Kingdom starts in Tartu, founded by Gert to make games. Game development did not pay the bills yet, so we built as much web software as we could to fund it.

PHP · .NET · web development

2012

True Flies ships on iOS. Sub-minute rounds, flat vector art, and one physical joke pushed as far as it would go.

Lua · Corona SDK · iOS

2012—14

More games, early Unity work, and a lot of client software in between. We start working in Unity, while custom web and software development keeps funding the games.

Unity · C# · iOS · web + software development

2015

Toona is built around a hardware startup's idea. The goal was to turn the hardware into something visual and usable: part app, part game, designed for tablets held in two hands.

Unity · C# · iPad + Android tablets

2016

Manky Run ships.

Unity · C# · iOS + Android

2017

Colorful Night ships on iOS.

2017—22

Mostly work we cannot show. A lot of it was software for government clients and NGOs: web systems, apps, services and gamified tools that were never really portfolio material.

2025

Noir as Love comes back. The idea first appeared around 2012, was shelved for years, and eventually returned as a relationship roguelike built in Godot. It is now in production and on Steam.

2026

SkinTimeline starts. A personal skin-tracking app grows into one of the main things we are building at Frozen Kingdom.

CLIENT WORK

Client work, and what it was made with.

Work done for other people. Toona has a proper write-up because we owned the design as well as the code; the others were good projects with less we can show — front-end, UX and gamification work for universities, registries and health services, including the University of Tartu, Quretec, TEDxTartu, the Estonian Road Administration and the City of Tartu.

Four guided self-help apps on each platform, each taking on a different aspect of mental health — depression, suicidal thinking and more. Structured programmes rather than streaks, because the return visit had to be worth something.

A long engagement we are not able to name. Mostly UX, UI and front-end development in JavaScript, on public-sector software that was never portfolio material.

WRITE

Write to us. Gert or Kaarel reads it — there is nobody else here to pass it to. If you send an engine, a platform and a rough deadline, the first reply will be useful rather than a calendar link.
